Waterford Public Schools is proud to highlight the Avery Point Transitional Readiness Program, an initiative that prepares students, ages 18—22, with vocational opportunities while fostering independent living skills and community interactions for students with disabilities. The Avery Point program uses the Life Centered Education transition curriculum providing in-depth coverage on life skills in three critical domains of adult living: daily living skills, self determination and interpersonal skills, and employment skills. This program is committed to providing purposeful work experiences and job exploration for these students while integrating a comprehensive post-secondary education to help them effectively contribute to society.
