In order to best support students, District personnel may explore and implement alternative, multi-tiered instructional and/or behavioral procedures and programs in general education prior to referring a student to special education. District personnel will encourage parents to collaborate with their child’s teacher(s) and other involved staff during this time. It is important to note that a referral to special education may be made at any time regardless of where the student falls within the multi-tiered intervention process.
The District accepts and processes all referrals to determine eligibility for special education and related service as soon as it is received. If a parent/guardian requires assistance in making a referral to special education please contact your school principal.
